Here at Some Place Else­where you will find all the tools you need to start trav­el­ing. It offers the knowl­edge that will help you to start expe­ri­enc­ing the ful­fill­ing, authen­tic and mem­o­rable jour­neys you have always been long­ing for.

Some Place Else­where focus­es on trav­el off the beat­en path. Whether it is actu­al off-road dri­ving, back­pack­ing to unusu­al des­ti­na­tions or explor­ing Europe’s hid­den gems on week­end trips, I always strive to authen­ti­cal­ly expe­ri­ence a des­ti­na­tion. I am big on bud­get trav­el, too, because let’s be hon­est, stu­dents are always out of mon­ey.

On this blog you can expect diverse con­tent from des­ti­na­tion guides and per­son­al trav­el sto­ries to inspi­ra­tional videos and valu­able tips and tricks.

About me

Now that you’ve heard so much about Some Place Else­where, you might be curi­ous about the per­son behind all this. So let me intro­duce myself: My name is Luise and I am ter­ri­bly pas­sion­ate about trav­el. I was for­tu­nate enough to grow up in a fam­i­ly that val­ued open­ness, encour­aged curios­i­ty and trav­eled often. With the years my thirst for adven­ture grew big­ger and I took every oppor­tu­ni­ty to jour­ney. When I was 15 I got my first job in order to be able to afford trav­el­ing abroad for a year after grad­u­a­tion. But eight month of back­pack­ing through South­east Asia and New Zealand should only be the begin­ning of my life­long adven­ture.
Cur­rent­ly I am study­ing soft­ware engi­neer­ing in Pots­dam, Ger­many, and con­tin­ue to dis­cov­er the world on week­ends, dur­ing semes­ter breaks or when­ev­er I find the time.

The idea of Some Place Else­where had been with me for over a year before I final­ly dared to start this project. I thought, what a waste to keep my knowl­edge to myself when I could maybe help oth­ers with it. More than half a year of hard work went into prepa­ra­tions before Some Place Else­where final­ly launched on Sep­tem­ber 1st, 2017.
